On 12nd July, 2025, in the framework of the 47th UNESCO meeting organized in Paris, Yen Tu – Vinh Nghiem – Con Son, Kiep Bac officially recognized as the World Cultural Heritage. This is a meaningful remarkable achievement after sustainable and strict coordination between Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh and Hai Phong, along with National agencies for over a decade.

The process of building this record spread in 12 years, especially from 2020, overcoming the difficulties of COVID-19 pandemic and the compilation of inter-provincial files. Surveying, assessing, researching, collecting documents and data was meticulously and systematically carried out across a vast area encompassing 3 provinces and 6 districts/cities.

The inscription by UNESCO affirms the outstanding universal value of the heritage complex — a convergence of majestic natural landscapes, profound Truc Lam Zen Buddhist culture, and a thousand-year history. This recognition not only elevates Vietnam’s position on the international stage but also serves as a driving force for sustainable development in the heritage region in the new phase.
