Ba Che district’s festive heritages are extremely special as they took place at ethnic minorities’ living places and received remarkable responses from the ethnic communities.

There are significant number of unique festivals of Ba Che district named yellow flower tea, Dong Chuc communal house (Luong Minh commune), Ban Vuong (Nam Son commune), Da village (Thanh Lam commune) , San Chay people’s cultural festive day (Thanh Son commune)… These events contributed to promote Ba Che’s image and land associated with typical local cultural characters to a large number of tourists and people in the province and nationwide.

Especially, Dao ethnic people’s Ban Vuong festival, which played a vital role in their spiritual life, opened in 2020. The event recreated the “Overcome the Sea” journey of Dao people, who built their careers in the new region and commemorated Ban Vuong , prayed for favorable rain and wind, lush crops, and prosperity and happiness for everyone. Otherwise, it aims to preserve cultural heritage and foster tourism potentials through the beauties of Dao people’s custom, ceremony, belief, cultural life in particular and Ba Che’s ethnic minorities in general. On the one hand, this is an occasion for artists and the Dao people community to meet, exchange experiences, enhance awareness, and bring into play traditional cultural values in the developed and integrated time of the country.

In the framework of the festivals there are luxurious ceremonies with joint rites such as sacrifice, setting up the Neu tree, parade palanquin, transplant competition… In addition, joyful and vibrant activities like performance programs, folk games of tug of war, pushing sticks, introducing and selling OCOP products or local agriculture products…

Ba Che district also organizes many cultural festivals of ethnic groups, organizes highland markets. The activities of highland cultural markets are registered in early 2024, attracting over 8,400 visitors to exchange and trade at the markets. For example, the highland cultural market of Luong Minh commune has been maintained with its own characteristics of the highland market, operating on the 4th, 14th, and 24th days of the lunar month.

In conclusion, festive tourism step by step become appealing tourism products in Ba Che district. In 2024, the place attracted around 35.000 tourist arrivals, mostly tourists participating in the festivals. Accommodated visitors reached over 7200 people. Large part of tourists went to enjoy festivals and spring air and they chiefly came from Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Ha Noi, Hung Yen, Bac Giang, Lang Son, Yen Bai, Thai Binh, Thanh Hoa… These figures are decent signals of conservation and bring into play the festival heritage values, creating the sustainable growth for the local economy.
