Squid cake (Chả mực)
- Squid cake (Chả mực) is one of the most delicious dishes in Quang Ninh provinces, which is also famed across the three regions of Vietnam. It is made by big and fresh cuttlefishes with an average weight from 1.5 to 2kg. After pounding, pounded-cuttlefish will be blended with necessary ingredients like pork fat, onion, garlic, pepper. Next, it is shaped into pieces of proper size, dropped into a boiling oil pan and fried until they are yellowish brown on both sides.
- Squid cake was well-known for its fascinating and delicious flavor, good taste and rich of nutrients. It is a perfect combination with steamed rice rolls and sticky rice.
