In the framework of the National visit of Mr. Xi Jinping, General Secretary and President of China to Vietnam, China Global Television Network (CGTN) published a video named “Hello, Vietnam” on 13rd April, 2025. This video sent a friendly greeting to Vietnam and demonstrated a lively S-shaped country that was gradually loved by Chinese tourists.

In this video, CCTV concentrated on natural beauty, popular cultural heritage and special cuisine of Vietnam. The famed destinations such as Ha Long Bay which was UNESCO recognized as a natural heritage with the exquisite and poetic landscapes, or coastal cities like Nha Trang, Da Nang with soft white sand and blue water, along with a lot of interesting sport activities, were launched as remarkable places. Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city also created the impression with its combination of old architecture and modern life, in which Hoi An and Hue bore deep feelings on Vietnam’s culture and history to visitors.

Otherwise, one of the crucial reasons for making Vietnam become a favourite destination of Chinese is the reasonable fee for transportation, accommodation and eating. Moreover, the cultural and historical similarities between the two countries make Chinese tourists feel a sense of familiarity and ease when visiting Vietnam.
It can be said that, with its existing advantages and positive promotion through international media—such as the video “Hello, Vietnam”—Vietnam’s tourism industry is presented with a significant opportunity to attract an increasing number of Chinese visitors in the near future.
