On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025), and in celebration of this year’s April 30 – May 1 public holiday, Mong Cai city (Quang Ninh province) will organize a chain of events including 10 typical cultural, sport and tourism activities. This is a significant effort aiming to stimulate tourism and attract a large number of domestic and foreign tourists to visit, experience as well as pushing strongly the promotion of Mong Cai image which is young, energetic and step by step integrating with the region and the world.

A series of 10 meaningful events will take place, beginning with the Cross-Border Football Tournament between Mong Cai (Vietnam) and Dongxing (China); the inauguration of the Memorial House of People’s Armed Forces Hero and Martyr Dao Phuc Loc; the announcement of the designated Trà Cổ beach area, a new water sports and entertainment zone, and tourism experiences on the Bac Luan border river; followed by beach sports and water activities at Trà Cổ beach; the unveiling of a commemorative plaque celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025); the art performance program “Mong Cai – Rising in the New Era” and a fireworks display; the Mong Cai Tourism and Culinary Fair 2025; a Cross-Border Cycling Race between Mong Cai (Vietnam) and Dongxing (China); Vietnam–China cultural and culinary exchange activities, a dance team and DJ performance competition; various cultural, sports, and traditional folk games; and a cultural program combined with an exhibition marking the 50th anniversary of national reunification.

The activities expect to bear a vibrant and special festive air for locals and travellers and also open a colorful international sport and cultural exchange space. For which Mong Cai city clearly presents its role as a vital connection point between Vietnam and countries in many regions, especially in the friendly cooperative relationship of Vietnam – China.

At the same time, an activity string is a specific proof for renewal and sustainable developed commitment of the border city. With an increasingly expanding foundation of international cooperation, Móng Cái is gradually transforming itself into a dynamic and promising center of economy, culture, and tourism, making great contributions to the overall development of Quảng Ninh Province and the nation as a whole.
