Community tourism is one of the fascinating travel products that grab the attention of tourists, especially with high-class and cruise ship visitors. While experiencing the tourism kind, they want to discover traditional cultural characteristics, cuisine and exercise of ethnic minorities. On the one hand, localities strongly pushed preservation activities, built cultural villages, and brought into play old festivals…
To prepare for welcoming Japanese cruise ship tourists to Quang Ninh, representatives of Peace Boat (Japan) and several travel units, ship agencies from Vietnam surveyed Yen Duc village tourist area (Dong Trieu). Here, they savoured a peaceful, poetic natural landscape of Vietnam’s traditional village, experienced daily life of farmers with activities such as planting vegetables, grinding rice, pounding rice, bundling straw brooms, watching water puppets, along with appreciating tasty dishes, researching local customs, culture and living. “The tourist attractions not only have typical cultural characteristics of North Vietnam, but also it is very professional. Visitors are able to experience many unique activities that are likely to meet the demands of high-class guests”. Mr. Nguyen Van Manh, Director of Asia Outlook travel of Hanoi branch said.
Currently, Quang Ninh province has a lot of community tourist areas that are imbued with their own character of ethnic minorities. On the one hand, San Diu ethnic people Tourism – Culture Village located in Voong Tre village, Binh Dan Commune, Van Don district, is vastly built including a 5 parts traditional house, 2 modern and spacious above floors and has an area of 300 square meters. On the 1st floor, there is a San Diu ethnic minority cultural heritage display space recreated with a 1:1 ratio statue system, high-quality light and sound and induction screens… On the second floor, a large air is arranged for people to meet and organize art performances serving tourists… In addition, a wild yard which is a crucial place to hold ceremonials, cultural and sport activities, cuisine festivals and booths selling agriculture items of San Diu people, Binh Dan commune.
Along with Van Don district, the other localities also showed its efforts in preservation and bringing into play cultural values of ethnic minorities, encouraging to develop community tourism models. One of the favourable destinations of travelers is Am Vap farm, Ky Thuong commune (Ha Long city), which has local cultural beauty with traditional house architecture, delicious cuisine, cultural activities, arts and lifestyles of the Dao ethnic people here.

In addition, localities are pushing to raise 4 ethnic minority villages such as Dao people at Po Hen village, Hai Son commune, Mong Cai city; Tay people at Ban Cau village, Luc Hon commune, Binh Lieu district; San Diu people at Voong Tre village, Binh Dan commune, Van Don district and San Chi people at Luc Ngu village, Huc Dong commune, Binh Lieu district.
