During the five-day National Day holiday (August 29 – September 2), Quang Ninh’s tourism industry achieved a breakthrough with around 568,000 tourist arrivals and revenue reaching 1.8 trillion VND. This impressive result affirmed its position as a premier destination, highlighting the strong appeal of the heritage region’s marine, cultural, and festive ecosystem.

According to data from the Quang Ninh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the province welcomed approximately 568,000 visitors during the five-day National Day holiday—a 60% increase year-on-year. Of these, overnight guests accounted for roughly 227,500, up 70%. Total tourism revenue reached an estimated 1.8 trillion VND, representing a significant surge.

Major tourist hubs sustained robust momentum throughout the five-day break, seeing high visitor volume across coastal areas, modern entertainment complexes, and cultural heritage landmarks. Ha Long Bay remained the undisputed highlight with nearly 41,800 visitors, including a major international contingent of more than 19,100 arrivals. Sun World Ha Long drew around 31,000 guests, and Quang Ninh Museum welcomed close to 23,400 visitors. For cultural and spiritual travel, Cai Bau Pagoda in Van Don led the category with an impressive turnout of roughly 42,000 visitors, while Yen Tu hosted nearly 16,100 pilgrims and autumn vacationers. Key historical grounds also saw steady interest, with the Tran Dynasty Relic Site in Dong Trieu recording over 9,200 visitors and the Bach Dang Special National Relic Site drawing about 7,100.

During the National Day holiday, Quang Ninh’s tourism received a major boost thanks to meticulous preparation and a coordinated series of large-scale cultural, arts, and sports events. Kicking off the festivities, the special art performance titled “Quang Ninh – The Bright City of the Future”, held on August 28, created massive media buzz and drew approximately 100,000 residents and visitors in person. Furthermore, a vibrant lineup of highlights, including a glittering light performance by 72 cruise boats across the bay, the Halo Bay Show, VuiFest Night Market, spectacular fireworks, and colorful 3D mapping shows, left a lasting impression and created truly memorable moments for tourists.

In addition, the festive space of the Autumn–Winter OCOP Fair and Food Festival at the Quang Ninh Planning, Fair and Exhibition Center, coupled with the scenic Tran Quoc Nghien coastal boulevard, turned into a bustling hub that drew crowds of tourists to savor the province’s signature delicacies.

Alongside the appeal of cultural events, the proactive initiative of accommodation providers, restaurants, and travel transport operators—through diverse tourism stimulus packages—delivered a complete, safe, and civilized experience for visitors during the peak holiday period.
The September 2nd National Day holiday was not only an occasion of impressive revenue generation, but also a powerful testament to Quang Ninh’s top-tier event-hosting capabilities, integrated infrastructure, and multifaceted tourism appeal. This success provides a solid launchpad for the provincial tourism sector to accelerate and exceed its full-year growth targets.
