In the framework of the Cannes film Festival, Quang Ninh province along with Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, Cinematic Bureau, Vietnam Cinematic development Promotion Association and Ninh Binh province organized a series of special and diversified activities to promote and demonstrate the potentials of tourism and cinema.

The seminar “Vietnam – An energetic market of Asia, a destination for international film-making delegations” was a distinguished activity that introduced Vietnam’s exquisite filming places, significant support policies… The event attracted a large number of participants such as film-makers, directors, producers, specialists and foreign partners. Specifically, speakers analysed fresh potentials in producing domestic and international-corporated films; as well as sharing cinematic growth support policies, especially new points in Vietnam’s amended Cinema Law, which affirmed Vietnam Government’s guarantees in creating more comfortable and fascinating environments for film-makers worldwide.

In particular, representatives from Quang Ninh and Ninh Binh provinces—both of which have hosted major Hollywood film productions—also took part in the seminar. They presented the unique strengths of their filming locations, as well as local policies and support mechanisms aimed at attracting more international film crews in the future.

In addition, a Vietnam’s booth promoting tourism and cinema with the theme “Vietnam on screen – landscapes, stories and possibilities” caught a lot of attention from visitors. The space launched unique travel publications of Quang Ninh province’s destinations and tourism businesses, along with highlighted contents of the other locals. 

The presence of Vietnam’s film and tourism industries at one of the world’s most prestigious film events marks a new step forward—a fresh approach to promoting Vietnamese tourism. At the same time, it presents a valuable opportunity for Vietnamese filmmakers and international film professionals to connect and collaborate.
