In 4 days of 30th April and 1st May holiday occasion, Quang Ninh province welcomed roughly 1 million tourist arrivals, reaching 113% over the same period of 2024. International visitors were estimated at 84,200 arrivals, reaching 110% compared to the same period in 2024. Overnight stays were estimated at 420,000 arrivals, reaching 109% year-on-year. Total tourism revenue was estimated at VND 2,766 billion, equivalent to 142% compared to the same period in 2024.

Ha Long, the tourism hub, continued to affirm its strong appeal with a total of 580,000 visitors, accounting for 58% of Quang Ninh’s total visitors. International arrivals reached 37,300, along with total budget revenue of approximately VND 1,660 billion. Tourist sites in Ha Long City recorded a sharp increase in visitor numbers—2 to 3 times higher than usual days.
Tourist routes to Co To, Van Don, Mong Cai, and Bai Tu Long Bay also experienced a surge in visitor numbers. At Ao Tien International Port, a record number of visitors significantly mounted, with approximately 470 boat trips transporting over 35,000 tourists to island destinations such as Co To, Quan Lan, and Minh Chau.
On May 3rd alone, the total number of visitors to tourist attractions across Quang Ninh province was estimated at 216,000. Of these, Ha Long City welcomed around 125,000 visitors; Mong Cai City had 42,770; Uong Bi City saw 19,500; Van Don District received 25,000; and Co To District welcomed 4,000 visitors.
In the 2nd quarter of 2025, Quang Ninh tourism expects to welcome about 5.3 million tourist arrivals and total tourism income is 14.720 billion VND.
