Along with spiritual cultural tourism strengths, Uong Bi is taking care of investing in available strengthened travel products, seeking to grow fresh and high-possibility produces… These aim to enhance the attraction and create breakthrough steps for local tourism in the upcoming time.

Mr. Pham Xuan Thanh, Head of Uong Bi city Culture Information Department told that in December, 2022 the city adopted a Project developing Uong Bi’s tourism product in the phase 2021-2025, heading to 2030.
In March 2022, Uong Bi city set up a plan to deploy this Project. Beforehand, the city focused on approved tourism development plans of historical relics, spiritual and ecological tourist attractions to institute the orientation for travel growth. In the phase of 2022-2024, it spent 3 billion VND source invested in the tourism digital transfer such as digitizing travel resources in the digital foundation, Uong Bi tourism’s brand appearance set, sticking QR code at the relics, visiting VR360 Yen Tu virtual reality…
Therefore, these things contributed to rich travel products, improved service qualities and caught up with the tourism trend of the generation. On the one hand, the city mobilized a significant social source with more than 6 billion VND to form tourism products taken by the capital of enterprises, organizations and individuals. It also gave destination promotion policies to appeal to tourists in the low seasons, promulgated a clear policy mechanism of loan capital promotion, ensured the capital’s safety for economic elements participating in the tourism development, renewed administrative procedures, paid attention to tourism employee training…

After 3 years implementing the Project, Uong Bi city’s tourism products changed rapidly and became more diversified. In the cultural, historical and spiritual aspect, 2 relics were recognized as the provincial monuments such as Nam Mau communal house relic (Thuong Yen Cong commune) and Xep Bang and Tiger mountainous caves (Phuong Nam ward), along with Dao Thanh Y ethnic minority’s cultural space displayed house at Thuong Yen Cong commune.
In addition, there were positive evolutions of ecological and MICE tourism products. The ecological destinations such as Khe Song – Thac Bac, Phuong Hoang and Binh Huong mountains… which are not recognized as tourism attractions yet but griped a lot of visitors. Besides, MICE tourism is currently grown and utilized by Tung Lam Development Co., Ltd at Yen Tu historical and monument relic area.
However, some restricted problems left due to the tourism growth were not still parallel with available potentials; the exploitation of natural landscape values and rural economy synchronously undeveloped; the quality of tourism products did not have the necessary synchronization. So that Uong Bi was truly not an ideal stoppage destination for tourists. These are problems that need to be restored in the coming time to make the Project as effective as possible.
