A large number of local residents and tourists take part in the Tien Yen commune ethnic minorities culture and sports festival.

The ceremonial part was solemnly conducted with rituals of incense offering, formal reporting, and seeking permission at the communal house. It also featured a reenactment of a segment of the Long Tong ritual – a distinctive spiritual practice of the Tay people. The ritual carries the meaning of praying for good harvests and peace, expressing aspirations for prosperity and favorable crops, while affirming the continuity of the community’s long-standing cultural traditions.

A boat racing competition on the Dong Dinh river creates a vibrant atmosphere at the festival.

Along with the ceremonial parts, sport contests are also held including the football women’s competition organizing for the first time, boat racing on the Dong Dinh river and folk games such as tug of war and stick pushing. These activities not only create an exciting atmosphere but also encourage physical training and strengthen the spirit of solidarity among the people.
