On February 23 (ig January 1 of the Lunar new year), Tien Cong festival 2026 hosted solemnly at Tien Cong temple National relic area (Phong Coc ward). The event attracted a large number of attendees including locals and visitors. It was chaired by Phong Coc ward People’s Committee and was one of the most typical traditional festivals of Ha Nam islet in the early of the year.
As attending in the festival, people took part in the procession ceremony of elderly dignitaries to the temple to offer incense to forefathers, who had achievements creating the villages. On the main day of the festival, 35 elderly people who were more than 80 years old participated in the ceremony. Before then, the first procession ceremony took place with the participation of 204 elderly people.
The image of the elders in traditional attire, respectfully escorted by their descendants and the community amid fluttering festival flags and lively ceremonial music, created an atmosphere that was both solemn and heartwarming. This ritual vividly reflects the tradition of honoring the elderly, while reminding today’s generation of the moral duty to show gratitude to the forebears who laid the foundations for the prosperous land of Ha Nam.
Tien Cong festival not only has a deep belief in meaning, but also it is an occasion recreating a nearly 6 centuries journey formulated and developed in Ha Nam land. Meanwhile, it contributed to preserving traditional values, as well as becoming distinguished cultural products of Quang Ninh every early spring.
