On June 15, Van Don International Airport welcomed the inaugural Van Don – Ho Chi Minh City flight operated by Sun PhuQuoc Airways, marking a new milestone in enhancing air connectivity between Quang Ninh and the country’s largest economic center.

Flight No. 9G1568 landed safely at Van Don International Airport, receiving a warm welcome from representatives of local authorities, relevant agencies, and passengers. The launch of the new route provides more convenient travel options, shortens travel time between the two localities, and contributes to promoting trade, investment, and tourism growth.

According to the initial plan, Sun PhuQuoc Airways will operate the Van Don – Ho Chi Minh City route with four round-trip flights per week, scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Notably, the initial flights recorded a load factor of over 90%, reflecting strong demand for travel between Quang Ninh and Ho Chi Minh City. This impressive figure highlights the growing attractiveness of the new route as well as increasing connectivity demand between the two localities. The outcomes also underscore the route’s strong growth potential and contribute to positioning Van Don as an important aviation gateway in Northeast Vietnam.
